Andover’s real estate market has always been a competitive market in part due to its proximity to Boston, school system, and pure charm. There is a mix of newer developments and antique homes closer to the downtown area that will meet the needs of an affluent homeowner. Andover has two golf courses with homes overlooking each with private ways. In recent years, Andover has catered to its downtown merchant community making Main Street a vibrant area with its multitude of snazzy restaurants and a variety in locally owned shops. Andover has many recreational areas including Pomps Pond. Addison Gallery of American Art is located in the top private high school in the country, Phillips Academy. There is also a large network of hiking trails.
